The masterpieces in this art gallery and framing shop are arguably the custom-framed mirrors. Clients come in search of the perfect looking glass for the powder room or above the mantel. The range of choice can be overwhelming—the basement space is crammed with some 500 frame samples—but don’t be intimidated: owner Kerry Fitzmaurice will ask for a description of your room and pull out appropriate samples—from ornate gold numbers to clean, dark woods to flamboyantly inlaid offerings. Heavily scrolled Victorian frames are available for up to $2,000; a typical 24-by-30-inch framed mirror starts at approximately $500. Mirrors—in plain or bevelled styles (also available in bronze and charcoal)—are included in the pricing.
