East End Garden Centre

All the gardening goods are here, along with hardware, plumbing, electrical supplies and landscaping services. What’s outside depends on the time of year (potted mums, pumpkins, Christmas trees, firewood, spring bulbs, soil, you name it). In growing months, East End carries an impressive array of annuals, perennials, roses, vines, shrubs and trees. Bags of bark chips, cocoa shells and mulch ($6–$8) are a bargain, as are plain-Jane trellises. Slug-swarmed organic gardeners will be overjoyed to find nematodes—the natural alternative to chemicals—available in season at $30 for 2,000.
Hours:
Jan., M–Sa 8–6; Feb., M–Sa 8–8; March to Dec., M–Su 8–8
