Relatively new to the uptown Yonge Street strip, Veranda carries garden-oriented decor and gifts. Many items have a distinctly contemporary edge—no fussy cachepots or Victoriana here—but you will find good design at great prices. Staples include weather-proof cement planters ($250–$1,200), slate fountains and outdoor area rugs. Vases and other items handmade with birchbark ($10–$150) are store favourites. Fountains for both indoor and outdoor installation, a selection of gifts including Lacoste’s leather attaché line (about $200), and garden decor consultations are also available.
