Indoors meets outdoors, East meets West, and practical meets whimsical—all in the heart of Greektown. Buddha heads mingle with solar lanterns ($29) and moody glass or metal varieties of lighting ($12–$60). The store moves a lot of sensible lightweight and low-maintenance cast aluminum furniture, all-weather resin furniture, and classic teak patio pieces, but owner Robb Dagenais distinguishes Moss from the big-box places by stocking unique artisanal pieces, such as a reclaimed pine bookshelf ($699). Another special feature is Dog Bite Steel, the unique work of artist Jean-Pierre Schoss, who transforms found steel into playful creations shaped like flowers and animals for living rooms (garden-inspired interiors are another specialty). The store also offers an array of potted succulents (small cactus or haworthia, $16–$24).
