This shop, with 13 rooms set up as separate living spaces, is in a time warp of comfortable, old-world style. The main attraction here is solid, European-made reproductions of 19th-century designs, well-suited for Toronto’s older houses. Farmhouse tables from French firm Antix are monumental and surprisingly reasonable: an 87-inch-long model in mid-grade oak goes for just $2,990. The tall Andrew wall unit is just the right size to hold a plasma TV and paraphernalia—and is a bargain at $7,290 in solid oak. The store’s array of accessories offers plenty with which to fill the shelves: try a shadow box with a figure of a perky pointer ($79) or a nickel Yorkshire champagne bucket sporting a coat of arms ($99). Vintage books, collections of plays and old Québécois textbooks (all from $4) will add patina to your bookcases.
