Even more so than most shops that specialize in all-encompassing mid-century modern, Morba straddles the boundary between classic design and kitsch. There are walls of sunburst and other retro clocks, cases of old vases and cruets, and an exclusive selection of Le Klint lighting (from $200). There are also lots of design classics (or as close to the real thing as can be): teak-framed Scandinavian-style armchairs; a Vladimir Kagan glass coffee table ($500); Sputnik-inspired ceiling lamps; and a reproduction Eames leather lounge chair and ottoman (discounted to $1,999). There’s so much stuff here—chairs climbing the walls, vases stacked on side tables stacked on chests—that finding the ideal item isn’t easy. (One staff member seems to be on permanent dust patrol.) But diligence can pay off.
