Kate Eisen’s tiny tin-ceilinged shop features street-smart bags from Freitag, the trendy Swiss firm that recycles old truck tarps into colourful messenger, courier, portfolio and other urban styles. But the real find is the carefully curated selection of mid-century modern furniture, particularly the CanCon. Homegrown offerings include a bent-plywood sofa with a Scandinavian look, but a Canadian pedigree (designers Muller and Stewart), and a line of table lamps from legendary Danish-Canadian designer Lotte Bostlund (pair $450). There’s also an original Bertoia Diamond chair ($495).
