A large, airy showroom displays pieces by such high-end European names as De Sede, Wittmann, Arflex and Rolf Benz. A Dono modular sofa system by the latter, in de rigueur textured tweed (or a number of fabrics and leathers), conjures instant visions of luxurious lounging: set your snacks on its wraparound shelving unit, lean back and listen to some Burt Bacharach. Happily, style is matched with substance: a white granite–topped dining table by Draenert ($16,825) is a marvel of modern engineering. Just pull gently on one end to reveal an additional leaf.
