Run by a husband and wife team every bit as travelled as the objects they sell (he’s a fourth-generation art dealer, she’s a jewellery designer from Paris), the gallery shows limited edition pieces culled from trips to Africa and Europe. A Venetian-style mirror, the frame reinvented in clear resin ($2,670), is an example of the contemporary-traditional tension that sums up many of the offerings. Folksy pieces play off the spare space: look closely at the bird sculptures ($210) made by a Senegalese artist, and you’ll spot found plastic combs and eyeglass frames. There are a few pieces from Canadian artists: among them, the stark black ink images on rice paper ($6,000-plus) penned by Quebec’s Zhu Lan.
