Design is a family affair at this King East showroom. After almost 40 years of bringing European flair to Toronto’s living rooms, Klaus Nienkämper now focuses on a proprietary line of office furniture (on display upstairs). Meanwhile, his son Klaus Jr. offers carefully juxtaposed designs for the home, each presented with a gallery-style descriptive tag. Imported items include a German-made oiled-oak table from E15 ($7,101), which straddles a set of citified bentwood armchairs ($330 each) by Le Corbusier. Furniture from Dutch design collectives Droog and Moooi, meanwhile, adds a quick pinch of wit.
