Hand-picked Quebec and Ontario antiques, including chairs, sideboards and painted cupboards, are a forte here; those with their original paint are especially prized. On excursions to France and England, O’Dowd nets more formal pieces, such as marble-topped commodes. With more elbow room in an added workshop, she has expanded her repertoire of custom-built furniture. Each piece is bench-made on-site by O’Dowd’s husband, Anesty Bebis, and designed down to the tiniest detail in collaboration with the client. A repro dining table, made from reclaimed wood planks, looks convincingly antique when paired with vintage chairs.
