An acronym for good, used furniture finds, GUFF is a departure from the typical modernist crowd. Owner John Jakeman used to buy for the mid-century modern stores, but noticed a gap in the retro-saturated market. So he opened his own shop—and filled it with quality used furniture that didn’t fall into the kitsch niche. Expect solid wood pieces here: a teak draw-leaf dining room table ($350), a mahogany dining suite ($850) or a 10-foot pine cabinet ($550). There are also a few quirky, typically Leslieville pieces thrown in to the mix: antique Chinese New Year masks ($100) and a seven-foot knight ($300).
