Located in Leslieville, among chic design shops and buzzing cafés, Margaret Corrigan’s modern, all-white floral boutique is a perfect fit for the neighbourhood. Having fallen in love with floral design while working at a Notting Hill flower shop and then at London’s swanky Park Lane Hotel, Corrigan returned to Toronto in 2000 and opened up a shop of her own. Arrangements lean toward fresh and modern—no over-designing here. For garden parties, Corrigan loves creating a whole mass of one type of flower (peonies, garden roses), or for a jaw-dropping gift, she might do an arrangement of giant King Arthur lady’s slippers with hot pink Singapore orchids. “We try to keep it simple and stay away from old-fashioned arrangements,” says Corrigan. “We want to let the flowers shine.” Hand-tied bouquets from $55, large vase arrangements from $150; delivery from $9.
