Karina Lemke arranges flowers for corporations in the winter, weddings in the summer, the television show Rich Bride Poor Bride, and for celebrities like Justin Timberlake and Mariah Carey, to name a couple. If that isn’t enough, come July she’ll be the star of Petal Pushers—a weekly flower-design show on HGTV. A fan of lush designs, Lemke uses the freshest seasonal flowers: peonies in June, delphiniums in July, and something green and white at Christmas. A typical Lemke creation features roses, orchids and peonies in a vase lined with aspidistra leaf, magnolia and salal. Arrangements (desk-sized $50–$80) come wrapped with raffia or Japanese ribbons, and sheathed in brightly coloured hat boxes—a formal touch that turns receiving flowers into an event. Wedding consultations (by appointment only) are free and thorough.
