The walls in this artfully decorated shop are vibrant shades of pink and yellow, the flower arrangements edgy and creative. Owner Laura Tarbat tends to combine exotics—shampoo flowers, Australian protea, heart-shaped anthurium, Malaysian orchids—with more familiar flora (dahlias, tulips, roses). A favourite of local galleries and visiting film crews, Poppies is the designer of choice for a number of neighbourhood hot spots, including the Drake. Bouquets from $30, centrepieces from $50; delivery starts at $15.
