Divas are an occupational hazard in the bloom biz, but Pam Kosoy is a rare specimen: totally unpretentious. She even named her store after a character in an Archie comic (Moose’s girlfriend, who shares the name with Kosoy’s mother). Kosoy’s favourite flowers are hydrangeas, dahlias, gerbera daisies, orchids and roses (arrangements start at $20; delivery extra), but she never sticks to just one style. Hostess gifts (from $15) are a strength—popular options include a sophisticated solo cymbidium orchid in a cup; and a trio of imported roses, surrounded by greens and berries, in a ceramic, glass or silver container.
