Sleek displays of modern tiles greet customers in the foyer. And though it’s more akin to a Distillery District art gallery than a flooring shop, prices vary considerably. Sales clerks will help do the math for your dream kitchen or bathroom. On one visit, urbane honey-polished limestone cost $12.77 per square foot, while a grey flamed sandstone by Pietra Med-ici was $24.15 per square foot. One wall displays a large selection of Bisazza bathroom tile (a mix of shiny, dazzling metal squares and vitreous mosaics) that can be special ordered. For the literal-minded, check out the cheeky white Ascot floor ceramic, with tiles that spell out F-L-O-O-R ($5 per square foot). Brands like Casa Dolce Casa and Viva come in a wealth of materials, including marble, glass, slate, quartzite, granite, travertine and aluminum. Creative showroom displays make this a good place for renovation ideas.
