Home & GardenFlooring and Carpets

Floorworks

This chic boutique-style showroom offers a tightly edited selection of engineered hardwood flooring, plus groovy Euro-import carpeting. Despite the shop’s swanky appearance, prices begin at a reasonable $7 per square foot, which will get you eco-friendly, oil-finished wood planks in a selection of au courant colours; wide planks start at $9 per square foot. At the high end of the price scale are hand-finished boards from Sumo (from $14 per square foot), whose rustic yet contemporary treatment creates the look of reclaimed boards. Challenging sisal’s hegemony are jewel-toned custom rugs in Muppet-like textures, such as loopy wool felt, mohair, and twisted wool that resembles fusilli pasta. Beyond floors, the store also stocks a small selection of Italian-designed contemporary furniture, and they recently opened a showroom next door for Schiffini kitchens.
