Whisper it quietly, but globalization can be a force for good. This non-profit operation sells home furnishings, jewellery and knick-knacks by Third World artisans, and aims to raise awareness about sustainable development and fair trade. The selection is eclectic: bamboo curtains from Vietnam ($40), Guatemalan floor pillows ($62), Peruvian vases ($42) and address books from India ($10). Countries in need of immediate relief are often highlighted.
