Charming and uncluttered, Juditha Sakinofsky’s store houses a collection of gifty treasures that she jokingly refers to as “exercises in self-indulgence.” The South African expat buys some of her wares at overseas markets. For instance, she picked up oversized basket bags made of woven palm fronds (from $20) in Morocco (perfect for the beach) and brought back overstuffed pillows from Turkey. The upper floor, devoted entirely to babies and children, houses all manner of vintage-style playthings. Makit toys ($24)—reminiscent of old-school Tinker Toys—elicit squeals from the young at heart.
