Gentlemen, consider yourself warned: there’s nothing masculine about this sweet little shop. Opened in 2005, Parpar is girlie central, with a touch of shabby chic thrown in. Resembling a dressing room in a French country house, it is filled with lingerie, chandeliers and repro antique furniture. Decor accessories include kitchen aprons in vintage fabrics, as well as lavender-scented toile-printed drawer liners ($25), and faux vintage dessert plates with a gold Parisian wallpaper print. Chandeliers range from a small beaded affair ($100) to a graceful showstopper in pink pearl and rosettes (up to $1,000). But the belles of this ball are the vintage-style glass tissue box covers ($89) and the vanity table boxes in turquoise or dusty rose ($95). A kids’ section includes winsome hand-painted toy boxes ($89–$219).
