Hardware

The creeping gentrification of Queen-Broad-view Village (or “Riverside,” according to the street signs) is good news for Hardware. Customers range from local loft dwellers to Rosedale matrons. The draw is large, sturdy pieces fashioned from reclaimed doors and floorboards. Interesting touches are scattered throughout: a salvaged oak tabletop paired with raw metal legs ($4,200) combines industrial and shabby chic; mirrors are framed in reclaimed baseboards ($695–$1,800). Handsome armoires and sideboards are another highlight ($1,800–$4,000). Vintage lighting can be hard to come by, so owners Murray Duncan and Jordan Tabachnik designed their own line, in wood and metal.
