A light-filled shop tucked in a narrow turn-of-the-century row house, Decorum Decorative is a haven for those seeking pieces with minor embellishments. Stock runs from antique to contemporary, with chandeliers and mirrors sparkling on ceilings and walls. On one occasion the selection included an aubergine fixture by Murano glassmakers Fratelli Toso (circa 1940), purchased by a Romanian diplomat who was stationed in Venice between the wars. A round, neo-classical-inspired walnut table with graceful sabre legs is $7,900; when it comes to Venetian mirrors, patrons can opt for high ($3,800 for an original) or low (a contemporary version is $395.) Space-savers take note: small deco side tables—a hot seller—tuck into any hallway.
