High Fidelity magazine rated it one of the five best hi-fi shops in the world, lofty praise that Bay Bloor strives to live up to. Carrying just about anything required to appease your every audio-video desire, the shop’s top floor features a Bose section, where a complete home theatre system runs between $1,500 and $5,000. New items include high-end Fatman iTube iPod docks ($799–$2,000) and a Project Xpression III turntable ($699). Low-tech shoppers in search of a simple AM–FM radio will delight in the handsome little Tivoli Model One Radio, which comes in six different wood finishes and goes for $150. Outward-bound audiophiles have their pick of a complete range of Sennheiser headphones (with removable earcups), including the versatile HD 212Pro ($80), and ultra-comfortable (think specially developed acoustic silk) HD 650s ($599). Old-schoolers can phone ahead and bring their dusty turntables in for one of the weekly clinics, where record players get inspected and fine-tuned.
