One of the longest-running stops on the Queen East furnishings strip, Elbers still offers plenty of antique finds at decent prices. There are a number of kitchen knick-knacks for newbie collectors, such as a sizable juicer made of bottle-green glass ($45, with a handle and spout) or a hand-painted Victorian lemonade pitcher and five glasses ($145 for the set). A Robbins & Myers fan, dating back to the early 20th century, is $75; a hanging hall light from 1920, painted with the image of a schoolboy, is $395. Bigger pieces aren’t cheap, but they’re a bargain when you consider the quality and condition. A signed mahogany Krug coffee table with a beautiful pierced pattern under the lip is priced at $1,495, while a hand-carved walnut rocking chair from 1880 is $1,595.
