Exile

One of the better vintage shops in Kensington Market, Exile offers rich hunting grounds for a retro-vintage look. Modish peajackets ($70) allow gentlemen to look cool in the cold; women’s tweed blazers start at $20, while velvet ones can be had as little as $20. Cord blazers start at just $12. College kids customize American Apparel Ts with an exhaustive selection of ’80s iron-on transfers and lettering (transfer $12, T-shirt and transfer $20–$30). Down the street, a second store beckons with a selection of jackets, jeans and hoodies.
