With vintage cufflinks from the 1920s to ’60s ($25–$58) and a wide selection of cravats, cocktail hats and sequined duds, it’s no surprise Hollywood North is on the scene: some of the costumes for Chicago, Hollywoodland and Away From Her came from this grande dame of vintage, not to mention threads for the likes of Andre 3000, The Killers, Mandy Moore and, most recently, Dita Von Teese. Savvy shoppers head down the back stairs for affordable dresses and beaded gowns from the 1930s to ’60s ($58–$425), a seemingly endless collection of men’s suits from the 1940s to ’70s, and some walking coats from the 1920s and ’30s ($125–$325). Dapper smoking jackets from the ’50s and ’60s ($38–$225) are also on offer.
