The Repeat Rider

Known for discount and consignment riding apparel, this Avenue Road store also sells horse-themed fashion for girls who have never sat in the saddle. The upstairs room, complete with a friendly cat, exudes country charm and is devoted to fashion and decor accessories (many items are made by Toronto artists and perfect for gift-giving). Downstairs is a crowded tack room, filled with bits, blankets, girths and saddles. Clueless parents and novices can rest easy—the knowledgeable sales staff are experts at fitting riding boots and helmets. The selection of show jackets and breeches is broader in youth sizes, but there are several choices for adults as well. Best-sellers include Blundstone boots ($169), perfect for city or paddock use. A small bulletin board serves as a clearing house for horse leasing and boarding opportunities.
