Save your money for green fees by stocking up on golf gear here. Knowledgeable staff know the stock—which is mix of items from closeouts, bankruptcies and overruns—and can guide rookies and Michelle Wie-wannabees (and their anxious parents) to appropriate clubs, bags and balls. Gear discounts are generally 30 percent off list price, while most apparel is half what it would cost at the clubhouse pro shop. Bulk bin golf balls are available from over a dozen manufacturers and start at $6 for a dozen non-branded grade B balls. A full set of 11 clubs can be found for $200 for adults and $100 for juniors. There are also fun toys and accessories such as cubicle or corner office-sized putts and head covers ($2.50) featuring fuzzy animals and playing cards.
