You may need some help digging through the piles of shoeboxes, but it’s worth it: The Shoe Company specializes in quality brand name shoes for up to 50 per cent off the regular retail cost. Though the majority of shelf space is dedicated to women’s styles, the Yonge and Bloor store has a strong selection of men’s shoes, from names like Adidas, Clarks and Timberland (up to size 15 for select styles). On one visit, black leather Kenneth Cole ankle boots were priced at $130, down from $298. In women’s shoes, brides and their maids snap up sparkly, strappy heels, most priced under $60; for the office, smart styles include brand names by MIA, Franco Sarto and Nine West. Recent finds included Steve Madden pink patent leather pumps for $40.
