As new stock arrives at this posh Avenue Road store, end-of-season tableware and orphaned linens make their way down to the shop’s no-frills basement, where prices are slashed by at least 40 per cent. With bits and pieces added to the shelves regularly, this is a mix-and-matcher’s dream. However, complete sets can be found: a classic white 16-piece fine bone china dinner set by Rhubarb was $78.99 (marked down from its original $129.98). Other finds included green Provençal-style quilted placemats for $8.99 (down from $15) and a jaunty red-and-grey polka-dot glass platter by Love Plates, a steal at $29.99. The massive selection of glass vases (prices range from $11.99 to $24.99) is another draw.
