Soho Arts & Custom Framing

Decor guru Debbie Travis shops at this tiny Parkdale store, where framed mirrors and family photos hang on the wall alongside the work of local artists. Every frame in the place is 70 per cent off the regular price: an 11-by-14-inch frame with real gold leaf, for example, was reduced from $330 to $99. With a rotating stock of pre-made pieces to choose from, the deals change monthly. You can buy a pair of four-by-six- or five-by-seven-inch frames for $10 and up. And, thanks to a computerized cutter, custom mats are super cheap at $3 a cut (competitors charge $10 and up). All pre-made frames in the store can be cut to size, and the expert staff will frame anything from needlework to computer screens and plasma TVs.
