With its cinder block walls, crass come-ons (“three floors of savings”) and jumbled displays, this five-store leather superstore (celebrating its 60th anniversary this year) isn’t going to win any design awards. But if you want affordable leather furniture, you can find it here. A three-seat Bauhaus-style sofa with double-stitched leather and a hardwood frame goes for $1,798 (two-seat model, $1,698); a Barcalounger recliner in leather is $1,598. Leather sofas range from about $1,098 at the low end to approximately $2,500. The midtown store features more condo-friendly furniture, while the suburban stores stock a greater number of recliners, but all outlets offer a range of colours and materials, including the increasingly popular microfibres (suede look-alikes that are cheaper and more stainresistant than the real thing). Most items can be delivered within 24 hours.
