With a quartet of flower shops on a single block of Avenue Road, this little Garden of Eden boasts competitive prices. Don’t expect fancy arrangements à la Teatro Verde—this is strictly no-frills—but at these prices, who’s complaining? There is a good selection of flora for all tastes, with potted plants and buckets of cut flowers cramming the interior and even more blooms spilling out onto the sidewalk. An ever-present selection of cut and potted orchids and a rainbow of long- and short-stemmed roses are supplemented by a variety of seasonal items. Choices might include huge stems of ginger and calla lilies, and birds of paradise ($3.99 for two stems) or gladiola bundles (10 for $4.99–$5.99). Quality is sometimes variable, so it’s worth taking the extra time when selecting a bouquet.
