If you can tolerate the hawkish salespeople, Future Shop often has the lowest prices on current, mid-range electronics from major brand names. Stock comprises digi-cams (Canon, Fuji, Olympus), computers (Compaq, HP, Gateway, Toshiba), audio-video (Pioneer, Sony) and DVD players (Panasonic, Sony and Pioneer). Home appliances from such names as GE, LG and Whirlpool are also sold. The store guarantees to beat any competitor by 10 per cent, and to refund the difference if they reduce their own prices. To avoid the big-box mayhem, smart shoppers buy or browse on-line (www.futureshop.ca).
Hours:
M–Sa 10–9, Su 11–5.
