Though it looks like a modest neighbourhood stereo shop, the Bloor Street branch of 2001 Audio Video is actually part of a 25-strong national chain. And its prices rival that of its flashier big-box competitors. Crammed with car stereos and home audio-theatre systems, this small branch stands in stark contrast to the massive Scarborough superstore and the clearance centre. They all have deals: notable finds include a Panasonic in-dash CD player–receiver for your car ($99) and Samsung’s 42-inch plasma TV ($1,999.99). Purchases include a price protection plan.
