The setting is shabby, the floor is dusty and much of the stock is crammed into milk crates. But this cubbyhole is arguably the best second-hand “record” store in the city. Stocking about 15,000 CDs—all guaranteed glitch-free—the shop’s forte is rock, pop, jazz and blues, with a strong classical section. The store also boasts sections devoted to country, folk, rap, electronica, comedy and soundtracks, with most CDs priced in the $10 range. The core rock-pop section is devoted to the established artists; for trendier acts, join the cognoscenti at the new arrivals bin. The huge vinyl collection includes rarities from Jimi Hendrix and Patti Smith for $13.99 and up, though most LPs go for around $5.49. DVDs ($9.99–$11.99) are also sold.
Hours:
M–Sa 10–10, Su 11–6.
