Located a few blocks west of U of T, this downtown shop welcomes those with an intellectual bent. Shelves are crammed with literature, art and history books, plus an eclectic music selection. Book picks consist of new, used and remainders (a hardcover copy of Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States sold for $28, down from $55). Second-hand titles can be found for as little as $10. In music, pop takes a back seat to the likes of Woody Guthrie and Miles Davis; the standard price for a used CD is $9.99 or less.
