Stepping into this used music boutique feels like you’re taking leave of the present. Not only because Second Vinyl specializes in jazz and classical music—two genres that haven’t really been fashionable for decades—but because the store houses a rich selection of long-players and cassettes. That’s right: tapes ($3 a piece). Budget classical CDs are $5, while jazz and pop titles typically run between $7 and $11. Vintage records are more, depending on the title and condition; a copy of Keith Jarrett’s Köln Concert on vinyl recently sold for $19, while a lavish box set of Rafael Kubelik’s interpretation of Dvorak’s 9 Symphonies went for $39.
