With the addition of two new Doug Carrick courses (Hoot and Heathlands) in 2001, Osprey Valley made the leap from word-of-mouth favourite to one of the top golfing venues in Canada. As the country’s only golf complex, it has 54 holes routed through 800 acres of Alton countryside. Toot is reminiscent of Carrick’s signature track, Angus Glen, with elevated tees perched above plunging valley fairways and raised greens. Nosebleed-steep bunkers guard both fairways and greens. Like all quality courses, this one ends with a big finish. Holes 15 through 18 are the toughest and prettiest on the north side of the course, riding the ridge that bends through it. To score well, get enough juice on the driver to soften the long approach shots.

18 holes, 7,106 yards, par 72
