Burlington Springs Golf and Country Clubstarstar½

Designed and owned by CPGA pro Larry Bunkowsky, the 47-year-old Burlington Springs course is mostly wide open and well conditioned, a good choice for mid- to high handicappers. On the best holes, a creek ripples through the fairways; the second is a long, 570-yard par five where the water cuts across at the 150-yard mark, then curls along the left side of the green. There is even a classic risk-reward hole: The ninth, a 311-yard par four, is a dogleg right that bends across the creek. Big hitters have the option of busting it over the water and willows and going for the green.

18 holes, 6,582 yards, par 72
