Much has been written about how long and tough this Rene Muylaert–designed course is. From the tips there are three holes at more than 600 yards long—and that’s just on the back nine. Water comes into play on 14 and there are loads of sand traps. The par four 12th is one of many exquisitely designed holes, with its elevated peninsula and deep pot bunker in front. (You need an aggressive drive to give you a short iron into this little demon.) St. Andrew’s is also one of the pioneers of waste areas in Ontario, with an especially massive gravel trap crossing the 224-yard, par three sixth. However, there are also a few that are suspect: the ninth, a long double-doglegged par five, is a gimmicky hole that can punish a good drive. The overall feel of the course is distinctly suburban, with a distracting gallery of subdivision houses peering blankly from all sides. But the course is always in good shape and there are more than enough challenges to keep you focused.

18 holes, 7,304 yards, par 72
