Kleinburg Golf Clubstarstarstar½

Kleinburg defines middle-of-the-road golfing in the GTA. All three nines are interesting enough, and are relatively well maintained despite the huge number of rounds played here every year. As you negotiate Kleinburg’s rolling hills, gullies, ponds and old trees, you get the feeling that the designer lacked the imagination to get the most out of the property. There are exceptions to this, to be sure (notably the par threes, which often cross over deep gullies or other hazards from elevated tee to elevated green), but there are numerous holes that just sit there, shapeless and dull. Kleinburg does offer reasonably good value, however—it is relatively cheap and close to downtown.
