Canadian architect Doug Carrick’s award-winning gem, with its majestic 40,000-square-foot clubhouse, is a first-class experience from the moment you pull into the parking lot until you walk off the 18th green. The starter greets you at the first hole with a pleasant hello and goes over the course rules before wishing you a good round. The first shot (a par five) isn’t long, at 508 yards, but with a huge pond flanking the entire left side of the fairway and lots of traps on the right, it’s a tough one. Carved out of the picturesque Humber River Valley, Copper Creek is a challenging test and a scenic walk. The fourth, a monster 447-yard par four, is one of the most stunning and daunting holes. Hitting from an elevated tee down into the valley to a green surrounded by mature pine forest, this hole looks as if it was painted on a canvas. The signature hole, though, is the 459-yard, par four 10th, where you hit from an elevated tee to a curved fairway that doglegs left with a large pond on the left side. Insider tip: enjoy one of the tasty pulled-pork sandwiches at the end of your round.

18 holes, 7,097 yards, par 72
