An executive course it isn’t: there are two par fives, four par fours and three par threes. The first hole is a 585-yard par five that features a trio of traps hugging the left side of the fairway. The 207-yard, par three third is the number one–ranked handicap hole, and for good reason: with a pond at the front of the tee, you have to hit a long iron to reach the large, slick green. Number five is the club’s signature hole. Following a two-minute walk through the woods, you emerge on an elevated tee that looks out across an enormous natural pond to a large, two-tiered green surrounded by bunkers. The ninth hole, a 417-yard par four, is a memorable finish. With fescue and meadows getting in the way, and a pond on the left side, the tight landing area will test the nerves of even the steadiest player.
