With its immaculate conditioning, this executive layout is a steal at around $30. Though the course is just 1,996 yards from the tips, the narrow bent grass fairways and clever bunkering take the drivers out of players’ hands on most par fours. Water is a concern on the second, sixth and seventh holes, while one, two and nine give players views of sailboats on Lake Scugog. Greens are first-rate: short and smooth, never browned, devilishly sloped and, during a dry spell, tournament fast. Take advantage of the practice green, where the speed is that of the course greens.
