Marlwood has 18 scenic holes carved out of low-lying wetlands. Water is a concern on nine holes, while more than 80 sand traps have been dropped along the fairways and around the greens. Of special note is the 505-yard, par five fifth. Regarded as the signature hole, it (like most of the front nine) winds along a narrow path through stands of mature hardwoods. The green is bisected by a ridge: hit it short and your ball will roll off the front edge; hit it long and it rolls off the back. After the turn, the layout is less inspired—fairways flow into flat greens without bunkers or water.

18 holes, 5,425 yards, par 71
