Tam O’Shanter Golf Coursestarstarstar

Next to Don Valley, this is the best course run by the city. The layout is relatively short by modern standards. Many of the par fives are reachable in two by even average whackers, and the 452-yard fifth hole would now be considered an average par four on the PGA. However, there are enough hills, water hazards and tall trees to keep longer hitters honest. The best hole is the 15th, a 368-yard par four, which crosses a pond and bends sharply to the right alongside a willow-lined creek before climbing to a well-protected, elevated green. The bunkers have undergone a bit of a modern facelift.

18 holes, 6,083 yards, par 72
