Victoria View

This stately Cobourg house was built in 1874, but the simple interior has a touch of contemporary, Zen-like calm. Three second-floor guest rooms have polished wood floors and a no-fuss, modern decor. In the Chelsea, a bright, spacious room with an ensuite bath, a pair of leather tub chairs and a queen-size Mission-style bed—scattered throughout. Guests may enjoy a yoga session ($40 per class for up to four people), followed by a breakfast of coffee and French toast with mascarpone cheese and poached pears. There are more than 10 spa services available. Owners of a friendly yellow Lab, proprietors Jeremy Fleming and Scott Miller developed a canine retreat package for travellers who can’t leave home without their pets. Pooches stay at the nearby Animal Wellness Centre, where they receive a mini-make-over that includes aromatherapy.
