Proprietor Norma Daniel does extensive research to stay on the cutting edge of spa therapies, such as the full body massage that uses hypnosis to achieve deeper relaxation. All the mod cons are here—a 144-jet hydrotherapy tub, Vichy shower, eucalyptus-scented sauna, floodlit tennis courts, and an outdoor pool—but so are some interesting alternative therapies. In a field near the main inn, a comfortably furnished teepee is a popular venue for the two-hour balancing energy massage. Nature-loving guests who bring their own sleeping bags can spend the night in the teepee ($100 per person). Comfort seekers opt for one of seven guest rooms. The spacious and private loft suite, overlooking the tennis courts and wooded hills, is comfortably furnished with two sets of twin beds and a pullout sofa, making it a favourite for visiting film types (including Geena Davis, Christian Slater and Calista Flockhart). Three meals are served daily in the spacious dining room, which has a floor-to-ceiling fieldstone fireplace and a screened porch for summer dining.
